Thank God for Christian Science! My little boy's healing...
Thank God for Christian Science! My little boy's healing is a wonderful proof that God does heal. He was seized with an acute pain in his neck and cried terribly. He could not move his head without a great cry. I held him in my arms with his head resting on my shoulder and he begged me not to move, as a slight change of my position seemed to him unbearable. He knew that a Christian Science practitioner was "talking to God" for him, as he put it; and after about an hour, as the pain still continued, he said he did not see that God was helping him. I told him not to fear, for God never made pain, and therefore it was not true. After an hour and a half the pain seemed a little less and he could barely move his head. I had to fight fear, for the symptoms were of spinal meningitis, and I knew how hopeless the case would be with the aid of doctors. I dared not think of anything but that God is right with us; and surely He always was and always is, and we can always prove it, if we will only understand it.
As soon as the practitioner reached our house the pain ceased, and the child's gratitude was wonderful to see. The work was done; and it was indeed a miracle. For several days there was a swelling on his neck. He could not turn his head, and was quite badly bent over. Each day he straightened a little, however, and was able to use or turn his head more, until the fourth day, when he was perfectly normal, the bunch having entirely gone. Nothing but the truth and the power of God saved him from some awful bondage; and we have great reason to rejoice and thank God for Christian Science, also for the loving practitioner who worked to get a clear understanding of God and man's true relationship to Him, so that through her this wonderful thing could take place.
Whatever comes we have no right to doubt; for there is nothing too great for God to care for and to heal. Words never can express the gratitude we all feel to God for this and other proofs of His ever present love.
