It is with a very deep sense of gratitude that I submit my testimony relative to the blessings and experiences which have come to me through Christian Science. Since commencing the study of this practical Science eight years ago, I have found that it solves all my problems harmoniously. Nervousness and fear have been overcome, and hatred has been replaced by love; while peace and joy have dispelled anxiety and sadness. Many of these corrections of mortal mind were made during a confinement of thirteen weeks, due to a serious accident in which a kettle of boiling water was accidentally dashed upon me, burning the larger portion of the upper part of my body, from the top of my head to my knees. Oftentimes, after taking up the study of Christian Science, I had thought: In case of accident which would you rely on, God or man? I am grateful to state that my first thought was, I am not hurt; God is my Life. I clung firmly to these words, and I was sustained until a loving practitioner could be summoned some fifteen or twenty minutes later. During this trial not a particle of pain and only slight inconvenience was experienced, although my arm was badly swollen and gangrene was manifested for a few days. To-day there is hardly a mark to be found in evidence of the accident; my hair is much thicker than before; the arm is used freely; and my breast, which was partly burned by the intense heat, is fully reconstructed; in fact, my body is as perfect in every way as before the accident.

This beautiful proof of God's healing power was indeed marvelous to one so new to the study of Christian Science as I was at that time; but for the spiritual uplift and regeneration I am truly most grateful. I shall always look upon this incident as a blessing. Without these trials I should no doubt be still wandering in the wilderness of doubt and fear. On page 410 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy writes, "Every trial of our faith in God makes us stronger." Yet I am only a student, with just a faint gleam of this wonderful healing truth, which has proved to me that God does save, God does heal, God does construct.

I am very grateful to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for Science and Health, and also to those who so lovingly helped me; but I am most grateful to our Father-Mother God for all the good which I receive day and night. My greatest desire is to know Truth and learn to understand it more and more clearly, and through sincerity and love in my daily living to express my deep gratitude.
