Nearly twenty-five years ago, as I lay ill in bed, I was pondering these words from the one hundred and third psalm: "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." I thought, If God healed disease away back in the Old Testament time, and Christ Jesus healed all manner of disease in his time, it must be that I can be healed now. I believed the Bible, so I prayed earnestly to God for healing. Not long afterwards I was led to read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Next I attended a Christian Science lecture; then a Christian Science service.
During this time our youngest child, a little boy, was suffering from a severe nervous trouble. We had tried practically every known material method of cure, but to no avail. So we turned to God through Christian Science, and took him to a Christian Science practitioner. The dread disease disappeared, and in its place we had a normal, happy little boy in every way. He soon became the loving, obedient child he naturally was. As fear was overcome and conditions in the home improved, my healing came also in more and more mental and physical freedom.
No one has greater cause than I to thank God for Christian Science; for the understanding of God as our infinite loving Father and Mother; for Christ Jesus, the Wayshower; and for Mary Baker Eddy, through whom came the complete and final revelation of Christian Science, which today is healing and blessing all mankind.
