In Rabbi Silverman's article against teaching the Bible...

St. Joseph Gazette

In Rabbi Silverman's article against teaching the Bible in public schools, appearing on the editorial page of the Gazette, I notice a reference to "the Christian Science Bible (Mrs. Eddy's Key to the Scriptures)." The good rabbi evidently is referring to the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," of which Mary Baker Eddy is the author. This great work of Mrs. Eddy's is not used by Christian Scientists as a Bible. At all Christian Science church services selections are read from the King James or Authorized Version of the Holy Scriptures, and the same version of the Bible is used by Christian Scientists in their private study. The textbook mentioned above is what its name implies, a "key" to the Scriptures.
