In 1923, I was taken seriously ill with diphtheria and nephritis. In spite of the conscientious treatment of two physicians, I grew worse daily. As my heart became very weak, the worst was feared. Then my husband heard from relatives that Christian Science could heal every disease. We immediately resolved to turn to a Christian Science practitioner. As it was impossible for the practitioner to visit me at once, absent treatment was given. I immediately felt the heart action become normal. The next day the practitioner visited me. First of all she explained to my husband and to me something about the divine Principle of this wonderful teaching. With the loyal help of the beloved practitioner I was freed from my physical sufferings in a comparatively short time. Christian Science has given me so very much mentally, too. I thought I could never get over the loss of our only child, who passed away at the age of nine; but today I know that our child lives in God, and that there is no separation. Next to God, I thank Mary Baker Eddy and the dear practitioner from the depths of my heart for the good that has come to me.
