[Written for the Sentinel]

My Prayer

Our Father-Mother God, to-night
A humble heart is reaching up to Thee
In gratitude for light.

And not mine own alone, dear Lord,
Nor only from this place is fervent thanks
For Truth revealed outpoured,

But all those countless thousands, every place,
Who were but lately sore distressed and now
Are whole, uplifted by Thy grace,

Do thank Thee for Thy love that setteth free
The captive; thank Thee, too, for all whose words
Have guided unto Thee;

For all the faithful ones who, in the way
That Thou hast shown, lead weary, stumbling feet
Unto Thy perfect day.

Our Father-Mother God, this night
Take Thou these grateful hearts, and keep them safe
Within Thy light.
