Among the Churches
Current Notes
Haddon Heights, New Jersey (First Church).—First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Haddon Heights, has awarded the contract, and work has already started for the erection of a new edifice. The building will be erected at Station and Third Avenues. The plot is quite large, and the character of architecture is taken from the old English cottage type and promises to be an unusual suburban church. The main wing will have a seating capacity of three hundred, and will be used for church services. The exterior finish will be in stucco. The Sunday school wing will seat one hundred and fifty. The exterior of the unit will be tapestry brick. Both units will have Vermont slate shingle roofs with a thatched effect.

Alton, Iowa (Society).—The new Christian Science church is now completed, and opening services will be held next Sunday. The exterior of the building is cream Oriental stucco, and the interior is finished in old ivory. The chapel is twenty-four feet by twenty-four feet, and seats about fifty people. The building is on the corner lot across from the public school, and faces north.—Alton Democrat.
