My heart is full of gratitude for the many blessings...
My heart is full of gratitude for the many blessings which have come to me and mine through the study and application of Christian Science. And it is a source of great joy and thanksgiving to know of the abundant blessings which are daily coming into the experience of thousands of earnest seekers for the truth in all parts of the world. As we grow in this knowledge of the truth of being, we cast off the sense of fear and discern the unreality of the testimony of the material senses.
I am more grateful than words can express for a healing which I experienced a few years ago. The condition was a fractured rib, which, to mortal sense, was extremely painful. For about six days and nights I was unable to lie down, and could not sleep or rest in any position. A sense of fear tried hard to assert itself; but with the help of a practitioner, and patient and persistent holding to the truth, the difficulty was overcome, for which I was very thankful. This was an added proof of God's ever present help; and I learned that, as Mrs. Eddy tells us in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 66), "Each successive state of experience unfolds new views of divine goodness and love."
During the past twelve or more years I have had many proofs of the healing efficacy of Christian Science. I have been healed of severe colds, congestion of the liver, neuralgia, acute indigestion, chronic constipation, and influenza with symptoms of pneumonia, besides minor ailments. For all these blessings of healing I am deeply grateful, but more so for a better understanding of God and for the spiritual uplift gained through the study of Science and Health. My prayerful desire is to love more, to gain in spiritual understanding, and to become worthier each day to receive these blessings bestowed by our Father-Mother God. And I would say with the Psalmist: "Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."
