"Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;...

"Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." This admonition from Jesus was always my motto in life. Very early in youth I wanted to know all about God, and just why He was not revealed to me, and also why I did not enjoy perfect health and happiness after I had sought His kingdom, as I really thought I had. For many years I prayed to an unknown, mysterious God, longing for Him to heal me, and I would read the passage in Psalms, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."

I had attended a so–called orthodox church for many years, had taught in the Sunday school, was faithful and sincere in doing what I could to further the kingdom of heaven on earth; and yet my prayers were not answered. Nor was there any response to this hungering and longing until I attended my first service in a Christian Science church. Almost instantly I realized that this religion would answer my many questions about God, about man's relationship to Him, and just how we must approach Him in order to enjoy His many benefits. A realization of the wonderful truth that all He had made He had pronounced good came to me then and there. Very earnestly I sought to know and live this truth, which filled my consciousness with an unspeakable joy. Persistent daily study brought me nearer to the realization that my heavenly Father gives His child health and peace without measure.

As the years have passed I have been healed of fear, discouragement, violent temper, and grief when loved ones passed away. Financial and home problems have been solved, and many physical ailments have been cured,—such as nasal catarrh, bronchitis, influenza, stomach disorders, neuralgia, and a very serious nervous trouble of nine years' standing.
