For twenty–five years I had been subject to so many ills...

For twenty–five years I had been subject to so many ills that I might almost say there did not seem to be a part left in my body that was healthy. I suffered from neurosis of the heart and almost constant headaches. The worst, however, was stomach trouble. I was getting to the point where I did not know what to eat; and in spite of the great caution exercised, the little I did eat was eaten with fear, so often was eating accompanied by fever and terrible suffering. I would also be weak and miserable for a long time afterwards. And then constantly there were cold feet! In the hottest summer weather I had to wear woolen stockings and warm felt shoes, but in spite of this was often so cold that I had to resort to the foot warmer.

In my despair I tried all the remedies which I heard of,—medicine, nature cures, irradiation,—but without avail. Every doctor said the trouble was the result of great weakness of the nerves and was incurable at this stage. I found the same verdict in medical literature. Now everything has changed: my heart, my head, my stomach are sound. I eat everything without fear, and without choice, and feel no bad effects whatsoever. My feet are normal and warm, so that I do not need the warmer any more, even in winter. It is still like a miracle to me to be free from all the suffering, considering my former miserable condition. To this beautiful goal a dear Christian Science practitioner led me with great patience and pure, selfless love.

My husband has also partaken of the blessings of Christian Science; and we thank our faithful God with our whole heart for the love and goodness shown us. We also bear Mrs. Eddy in grateful memory because of the great work of love with which she has so abundantly blessed us.
