Shetland News
To overcome evil with good is the constant work of a Christian Scientist, and should be the work of all right thinking people. Christian Science is casting out devils, or false beliefs, every day. It is the Christ (the Son of God) in each one of us that is the "hope of glory," as Paul tells us; and in proportion as we have the Mind of Christ, we are enabled to emulate the works of our Master. John also tells us that "now are we the sons of God." If this is so, and we are spiritually awake to the fact, we shall then understand the saying of Christ Jesus, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do." We are told in the Bible, "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death." Christian Scientists are engaged at the present time in destroying the causes of death, namely, sin and disease. In proportion as these are eradicated, longevity will be increased, and death will be overcome through "the translation of man and the universe back into Spirit" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 209). Christian Science is healing the sick to-day more perfectly and completely than any other system in the world. In proof of this, thousands testify every week at the Wednesday evening testimony meetings in Christian Science churches throughout the world.
