[Original testimony in French]

It is with profound gratitude that I give this testimony

It is with profound gratitude that I give this testimony. I was busy in the kitchen, and not remembering that the stove was lighted, I put my whole hand on the hottest part of it. I immediately declared the truth; and in spite of the severe pain kept repeating that I could not suffer, since matter is sensationless. I also repeated "the scientific statement of being," as given by Mrs. Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 468), and recalled that, like the three young Hebrew captives who were not in any way hurt in the furnace, I could not be burned either. I then looked at my hand, which appeared as though it had been whitened with chalk; and the fingers were numb. After about ten minutes of mental work, I felt the pain grow less. Next day I was able to resume my duties; the second day, not only was the pain gone, but it could not have been told which hand had been burned, there being no longer any mark.

I am deeply grateful, not only for this demonstration, but for all the benefits I have received through Christian Science. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy, and also to the devoted practitioners who have always helped me so lovingly.
