In humility I gratefully acknowledge a better understanding...
In humility I gratefully acknowledge a better understanding of God and man's relation to Him, and the alterative effects of this understanding upon mind and body through the study and application of the rules of Christian Science, as found in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I applied for Christian Science treatment hoping for better health. Having been taught in the old faith to say that God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient, and having spent some thirty years in the Sunday school of the church of which I was a member, searching the Scriptures with the "helps" afforded by that church, I thought I understood nearly all it was possible to learn about God this side of heaven. Yet in five weeks' study of Christian Science, with treatment, more was learned and proved about God and His power to heal discord here and now than in all the preceding years. Semi-invalidism, weak heart, which my father, a physician, said I had manifested from early childhood, and sorrow, which time had not lessened, vanished.
In the fourteen years intervening Christian Science has been my only physician, medicine, or curative measure. Its gift of life more abundant, of peace and joy, calls forth gratitude that cannot be expressed by words. Much help has been received through the testimonies of others; and in the spirit of the Golden Rule I offer this one.
(Mrs.) Sue Conn Foree, Seattle, Wash.
