The Lectures

Marshfield, Mass. (Society).—The following remarks by Fred M. Lamson were made prefatory to a lecture by Frank Bell:—

In our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 587), this definition of God is given: "The great I am; the all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence." In The Christian Science Publishing Society in Boston, which is an activity of The Mother Church, there is recorded the full history of authentic cases of healing of all manner of disease as well as of sin and unhappiness through the understanding of God as taught in Science and Health. Any one can know about these cases from the testimony of those experiencing the healing; and in many instances from the testimony of physicians and surgeons who made examinations before and after the healing. It is said that there never has been a time when the world was so eager as now to understand God. No one has made a more careful study of the Bible for the purpose of getting at its spiritual meaning than has Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. Her writings were founded entirely on what had been revealed to her from this source alone.
