Christ Jesus said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." His words revealed the spiritual facts of the universe, the eternality of life and the immortality of man. He spoke of the mortal sense of creation as a kingdom divided against itself, which could not stand; and, therefore, to hold to mortal mind as something, is to hold to that which is self-contradictory and false. On the other hand, to accept the great fact that God, Spirit, is the Lord and that there is none beside Him is to turn away from all that is material, self-contradictory, and false, and thus to find the truth of being and the kingdom of heaven. The question, "Where does darkness come from?" one answers by saying that it is the result of the obstruction of the beams of light from the sun through the interposition of a material body. This illustrates the fact that the light of Truth is temporarily obscured by the belief of materiality; but it does not show that darkness has any entity or origin.
