An evangelist is reported as believing that sickness can be cured through prayer to-day as in the days of Christ Jesus, and is quoted as saying: "You do not have to run away from the church of Jesus Christ to Mary Baker Eddy to get the doctrine of divine healing. It is taught in the Bible."

I am glad to know that this evangelist believes that sickness can be cured through prayer to-day, but he is vastly mistaken in assuming that one who follows the teachings of Christian Science runs away from the church of Christ Jesus. On the contrary, he is learning day by day how to unite progressively with that holy church in heart and mind and life.

Mrs. Eddy's writings turn thought continually to God, to Christ, to the Bible, but not to her personality. In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," she speaks of the Bible as "her sole teacher" (Pref., p. viii); and as "the chart of life, where the buoys and healing currents of Truth are pointed out" (p. 24).
