A number of years ago my sister took up the study of Christian Science and tried to interest me. She often spoke of it in her letters, and sent me copies of the Journal and the Sentinel, but I did not read them. She also sent me a card with the statement from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." This card I put in my desk. I often read it and pondered its meaning. When word was sent me from school that my son's eyesight was defective, I took him to a doctor and had an examination. The doctor said, "Glasses, and strong ones, at once." Then I thought of the card. I went to the desk and read it again; and thought that it was much better to try to find something that would help him than to put glasses on an active, growing boy. I went to a practitioner, and her assurance that Christian Science not only could help him but could cure him, was a great relief to me. I began the study; and the boy is in high school and has never worn glasses.

Christian Science has done much for me and mine, for I. have had many demonstrations of the healing power of Truth. My little girl was instantly healed of tonsillitis; and during an epidemic of influenza this ailment was overcome both for the children and for me very quickly through the loving help of a practitioner. Sometimes I myself am able to meet and overcome the error; and I am deeply grateful for the knowledge that makes this possible. While on a camping trip in the mountains one of the boys came to me and said his throat hurt. I told him to go and play; that God was among the mountains as well as at home; and that we would know the truth. He went to play, and I began to read. It was only a few minutes afterwards when a scream from the other woman of the party brought me to my feet in time to see my son fall from the topmost branches of a near-by tree. My friend cried, "He is killed." I said, "He is not hurt," and went to help him up. This was in the morning. By the time we stopped for luncheon the boy was feeling fine. All trace of the fall was gone, as was also the sore throat.

I am thankful for a daily religion that makes life more to be desired; one that helps us over the rough spots, and gives joy to the smooth ones. I am sincerely grateful to all who have made the understanding of Truth possible.
