The Lectures

Chicago, Ill. (Eighth Church).—Miss Edith Lamar Burch made the following introductory remarks at a Christian Science lecture by Miss Margaret Murney Glenn:—

Isaiah says, "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!" Christian Science is fulfilling in this age the prophecy of Isaiah, bringing to our present comprehension the good tidings that the law of God is the law of everything that is beautiful, good, and true. As we know this law and live in accord with it, discord of every name and nature, sickness as well as sin, is cast out, and peace is to published in our lives. The good tidings of good came to me many years ago; and as I listened and dwelt on its truth, I was healed of what had been pronounced comsumption, at the stage when the doctors said that I had but a short time to live. With the physical healing came some slight knowledge of salvation, which Mrs. Eddy defines in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 593) as "Life, Truth, and Love understood and demonstrated as supreme over all; sin, sickness, and death destroyed."
