A little over ten years ago Christian Science crossed my path. At that time I was plunged in deep darkness, and it was this darkness which threw me into indescribable physical conditions. It seemed as if every one had left us alone. The cause of all this was a great nervous strain under which our family had been living for the fourteen years of our married life, and which could not be taken away in spite of all the love we bore to each other. We did not know our Father, and therefore we submitted to conditions as they were. The consequence was a great weariness of life.

Then Christian Science came to us. At once we realized that here was our liberation; but we could not yet estimate this Science at its proper value. Slowly but surely my gratitude grew towards our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy; and coupled herewith was an inexpressible gratitude to our Master, Christ Jesus, because then I began to discern what he had done to deliver mankind from sin, disease, and death.

To begin with, I did not know a word of English; a Christian Scientist helped me. Gradually I awakened from my sense-dream, and nervous headaches, from which I had suffered continually, disappeared; nervous rheumatism, as a result of which one of my arms and my neck had begun to stiffen, and from which I suffered unbearable pain when the attacks came, was healed. I regained my love of life, and began to take up my duties again quite normally.
