Some years ago I suffered from a stubborn case of bronchial catarrh, which kept me away from duty for two months. I frequently had spells of coughing in the night, which often deprived me of my rest. I was under medical treatment, but it brought me no relief. Then I heard of the blessings of Christian Science, and asked for treatment from a practitioner. From the very first day I received treatment I was able to sleep at night. I am grateful for the help which I have received through Christian Science.
My wife would not then believe in the healing and blessing of Christian Science, but she was later convinced quite suddenly. For two or three weeks she had been suffering with pain in her ear, and frequently she was unable to sleep at night. One evening she decided she would call a doctor the following morning. During the night I woke up, owing to some noise, and saw that my wife, not being able to sleep on account of pain, was walking up and down the room. She tried to alleviate the pain by applying poultices, but all to no avail. Suddenly she asked for the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. She read it earnestly and fervently, and asked the Almighty for relief and help. That same night she found peace, and was freed from the pain. The earache has now entirely disappeared. She now prayerfully reads the textbook every day, and is deeply grateful for God's infinite goodness and love to the children of men; grateful also to dear Mrs. Eddy for having revealed this beautiful Science.
