Healing in Christian Science is not considered miraculous,...
Times
Healing in Christian Science is not considered miraculous, unnatural, or contrary to established law, but rather as the direct result of the operation of spiritual law in human consciousness and therefore as divinely natural. As we come into an understanding of this spiritual law, we cease to fear and obey the false laws of matter, and thus we are enabled to free ourselves and others from their diseased effects. It was this freedom from laws of sickness to which the Master referred when he said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 425), Mrs. Eddy has said: "Consciousness constructs a better body when faith in matter has been conquered. Correct material belief by spiritual understanding, and Spirit will form you anew." This statement is in strict accord with that of Paul in his epistle to the Romans, to the effect that we renew our bodies through the renewing of our mind. As one assimilates an understanding of spiritual Truth he will be freed from the false conditions to which he seems in bondage. That which is not of God cannot stand. His law is no respecter of persons. It invariably operates to free all who are obedient thereto.
