Among the Churches

Current Notes

Dayton, Ohio (Second Church).—The new edifice of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, a classic stone structure which is an ornament to the neighborhood, has recently been opened. Though the church has a seating capacity of eight hundred, many people were seen standing in the aisles at the opening service. The dedication services will be held at a later date. No departure from the usual services was made. The structure is built along classic lines, the Greek, Doric order, producing a feeling of strength, dignity, and refinement. The building is seventy-four feet wide and one hundred and seventy-five feet long over all. The main portion of the structure is one hundred and sixteen feet long and forty-four feet high from grade line to coping.—
