The Lectures

New York, New York (Second Church).—The following remarks by Miss Ada A. Ashcom were made when introducing William D. Kilpatrick, a Christian Science lecturer, to his audience:—

Christian Science is the open door through which multitudes have entered into healthier, happier, and more useful lives; for through its teachings and the practice of its teachings, they have gained a larger knowledge of God and a better understanding of man in His image and likeness. Then, since this open door of truth has proved to be he way of salvation, over and over again, it is not to be scorned nor passed by with indifference; for he who will seek to enter, with a sincere desire to know a full salvation, will find his ills healed and his life regenerated.

My own experience has been similar to the experience of many. When after years of ill health my attention was called to Christian Science, I at first ignored it, then rather hesitatingly turned towards it, and finally had the courage to ask for Christian Science treatment. I not only was healed of my diseases, but found what I had not known before, a God who is infinite Love, who does not afflict but bestows all good upon His children. In the book of Revelation, John, in recording his vision, writes as one of the sayings of Him "that is holy," Him "that is true," "Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it."
