With a heart full of gratitude I wish to testify to the blessings which have come to me and to my family through Christian Science. When I was thirteen years of age, a dear married sister turned to Christian Science. She told me a great deal about God and the healing Christ, and gave me a copy of "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy. When a problem of any kind confronted me, I would flee to that book for guidance and help. My mother, who was not at all reconciled to my sister's becoming a Christian Scientist, finally became so antagonistic that she forbade her to speak to me on the subject; but my sister made this remark to me: "If you ever come to a place in your life when you do not know which way to turn, remember that God is All, and that He is ready to help you." The subject was dropped for several years; but the seed of Truth had been planted, and was bound to bring forth fruit.

Two months before I was to be married, the young man to whom I was engaged became very ill. At my urgent request he tried Christian Science, and was wonderfully healed. After our marriage we did not continue the study of Christian Science. I was ill much of the time, and was in bed four months before our twin boys were born. After they came, the next four months were a nightmare. We kept a day and a night nurse; but as they found the work too hard, we were forced to make many changes. The babies were not well, and I was suffering from every ailment that is possible for a nursing mother to experience. I had very little sleep and suffered so with backache that I could not stand erect. When the babies were four months old, our family physician said it would be necessary for me to wean them, and that I should have to go to a sanitarium for at least six weeks. I spent that night in crying and trying to soothe the babies, who were very restless. In the midst of my agony I recalled the advice of my sister, and arose determined to find out if God could help me in my extremity.

I had difficulty in getting to the home of a Christian Science practitioner; but I shall never forget the hour I spent there. She sat so patiently listening to my long tale of woe; and as I sobbed and cried she looked at me so lovingly. When I had finished she said in a very quiet voice, "Have you forgotten about God?" I told her I feared I had, that I had been too sick and too busy even to pray. She gave me a treatment, and when I stood up I found that the backache, which had caused such suffering for so many months, had entirely disappeared; and I have been perfectly free from that condition ever since. After eight days' treatment, I was completely healed of every physical disorder from which I had suffered. I discharged the two nurses and took the entire care of my two babies, and was able to nurse them for thirteen months.
