I came into Christian Science, not because of physical healing, but because I realized I had found the truth about God and man. I had found a religion which filled my every need. Although I had been a minister in two denominations widely differing in doctrinal beliefs, I had not found that peace "which passeth all understanding," which is revealed to me in Christian Science.

Befoer coming into Christian Science, eight years ago, I was constantly taking medicines for bowel difficulty and other ailments. Since that time there has been no medicine in our home but divine Mind. Shortly after taking up the study of Christian Science, I was healed of the tobacco habit simply by reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and the periodicals. I had formed this habit of smoking when a child; and with the exception of the six years I was in the ministry, I had used tobacco continuously up to the time of my healing. The healing was not accompanied or followed by any discomfort. It was just as though I had taken off an old coat which I had finished with.

I have been healed of influenza, smallpox, and many other diseases. A very great sense of lack has disappeared, and my salary has increased fourfold in five years. I am deeply grateful for these manifestations of God's care and protection in my journey from sense to Soul, and more grateful than words can express to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her wonderful gift to the world, the Christian Science textbook.
