There can be but one omnipotence, all-power, and that...

There can be but one omnipotence, all-power, and that power God, good. Faith in and understanding of this power cures to-day as it did in the time of Christ Jesus. He declared that he was "the way," and healed all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. He taught the twelve and the seventy and sent them out to heal by spiritual means. He never employed or recommended drugs. Healing by spiritual means, including raising the dead, continued down to the third century; and what was once possible is possible now. What was possible for Jesus and his disciples is possible for all. Those who have no faith in God to heal probably use material means; and the resulting effects are determined by the general faith and the faith of the individual in material remedies; for, as we read in the Proverbs of Solomon, "As he thinketh in his heart, so is he."

The following statement from the Times is an index as to how far medical knowledge is considered reliable: —

"No one will seriously disease that knowledge of disease is at present extremely defective. It is so defective that, within the last month, Sir James Mackenzie and his band of research workers at St. Andrew's have openly avowed that in upwards of ninety per cent of all cases coming for medical examination and advice, putting aside trivial complaints and minor injuries they are unable to 'state the nature of the patient's illness with any degree of accuracy.'
