It was through the healing of my mother when I was a little girl that I became interested in Christian Science. In the years that have intervened I have had many healings in Christian Science. One of the most satisfactory was that of constipation, from which I had suffered all my life. The healing did not come immediately, but it has been permanent. During the Experience I was greatly helped and encouraged by a testimony which I read in the Sentinel.
I have not only been healed when I have been sick, but I have been comforted at times when I have been sad and disappointed, learning something of what Mrs. Eddy meant by her words in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 574), "The very circumstance, which your suffering sense deems wrathful and afflictive, Love can make an angel entertained unawares." In learning to sing and in appearing before audiences Christian Science has given me wonderful help. There has come a freedom that I feel would never have come outside of Christian Science. I have learned that we sing to glorify God.
For the many healings, and much more for the understanding of God that I have gained, I am sincerely grateful to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and to other faithful Christian Scientists who have helped me.
