A few years ago, while staying at the seaside and bathing daily in the sea, I suffered from rheumatism. Though I tried to overcome it with my understanding of the truth, I did not succeed, and decided to ask advice of a friend. She said, "The same power that enabled Jesus to walk upon the water, enables you to bathe in the water without experiencing bad results." I understood that directly; and went on bathing without rheumatism. At another time, I suffered from a stiff neck and fever. I felt very uncomfortable and unable to realize the truth. So I asked for treatment. But after one or two treatments I did not feel better, and told the practitioner that I was even afraid of having a more serious ailment, some of the symptoms of which had already appeared. She said to me that Mind had not that disease, or its symptoms; and instantly the fear and pain had gone, and I got up the same day.

These are only little things in comparison with the regenerating power Christian Science has been to me. It has changed me from a most unloving, selfish person into one who has pleasure in God's command to love God above all, and one's neighbor as one's self. It is a pleasure to me to give this testimony. I am most thankful to God, to Mrs. Eddy, who, like Jesus, purified herself that we also might be pure, and to the practitioner.
