For the last three weeks I have not received the Sentinel...
For the last three weeks I have not received the Sentinel and I missed it so much; then I realized what the Christian Science publications mean to me. They are daily, weekly, and monthly inspirations, and I would not like to be without them. In realizing what these publications mean to me, it was also unfolded that they are made up of contributions from the field, testimonies and articles from other Christian Scientists; then in gratitude for all I have received I feel it my duty to add my mite in hope that it will be others as I have been helped. Christian Science has been my only physician for more than three years. Through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I have been enabled to lay aside glasses, after having been told that I would always have to wear them. I have been healed of colds, sore throat, headaches, rheumatism, influenza, and a cough three physicians had failed to heal. One physician said there was a spot on one of my lungs and he gave me little hope of healing. I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner and in three weeks was healed. My daughter has had many wonderful healings through the help of practitioners. For all of these blessings I am truly grateful, but when I think of the spiritual uplift, the healing of sin, then my heart goes out in gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for Science and Health. There are yet many wrong thoughts to heal (destroy) each day, but I know as I gain in understanding, these too will vanish.
Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 329), "A little leaven leavens the whole lump," and I pray daily for this leavening. I am very grateful to the dear friends who first told me of Christian Science and grateful to the practitioners who have helped and encouraged me.
(Mrs.) Sadie Huber, Shelby, Ohio.
