It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I give my testimony...
It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I give my testimony to the many blessings that have come into my life since I took up the study of Christian Science. I did not come to it for physical healing, but for relief from mental depression, as I had suffered for years from morbidness, until life seemed to hold little light or joy for me. I had from childhood attended church and read and studied the Bible faithfully, but until I learned in Christian Science how to apply the truth found in the Bible, I found no help for the solution of my daily problems. I had, through an accident, lost the use of one of my legs, and for several years my health had been failing. I was told by many physicians that I was twenty per cent below par in every way and would never be able to walk without my crutches.
A friend told me of Christian Science and I went to a practitioner although I had no money to pay for the treatments nor to buy the Christian Science textbook, but the practitioner told me that when I was able to work I could pay for both. Through the help of this practitioner and my earnest reading of Science and Health and the Bible I began at once to improve. In a short time I was able to eat anything and all that I wanted. My circulation became normal, the morbidness was replaced by a sense of joy and happiness, and in a short time I was able to discard my crutches and walk as freely as any one, although my leg had been perfectly stiff. I became entirely normal in every faculty and function and was soon able to begin to earn my living, and have since earned enough to pay all my bills and live comfortably.
Words cannot express the gratitude that I feel for Christian Science nor for the debt we owe to Mrs. Eddy for showing us how to use this truth.
