Mountain Lakes News

Mountain Lakes, N. J.—The Christian Science Society of Mountain Lakes has incorporated as First Church of Christ, Scientist.

The society was formed May 2, 1915. Services were held at a private residence up to November, 1915, when the privilege of holding the services in the Mountain Lakes schoolhouse was granted by the Board of Education. In January, 1919, having secured a plot of property with building, the same was remodeled and furnished as a church, at a cost of $6600. The first service was held on Sunday, March 16, 1919. The church is located at the corner of the Boulevard and Briarclyffe Road, and has a frontage on the Boulevard of one hundred and twenty-five feet, with a depth of one hundred and ninety-eight feet on Briarclyffe Road. The site is considered one of the best in Mountain Lakes. The church has a seating capacity of one hundred and twenty-five persons.—Mountain Lakes News.
