I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science through the Sentinel, since it is one of the avenues given us by our Leader, for sharing with others the good that has come into our own experience. Christian Science has been our only physician now for several years, and we have had many proofs of its healing power. Not long ago my little daughter was taken ill with influenza, accompanied by high fever, croupy cough, and complete loss of voice. I was far from home at the time, and among relatives who are greatly opposed to Christian Science, so I telephoned a practitioner for help, as my own fears seemed very great, All of the conditions yielded quickly and readily to treatment, with the exception of the cough and loss of voice.

Finally I wrote a practitioner in a distant city asking for further help. This was joyfully given and I was directed to the definition of children, as given to us by Mrs. Eddy on page 582 of Science and Health: "The spiritual thoughts and representatives of Life, Truth, and Love." An understanding of the fact that "representatives of Life, Truth, and Love" can only reflect qualities of Life, Truth, and Love, and that cough and loss of voice are not such qualities, completely healed her of every discordant condition.

I am so grateful to Mrs. Eddy for showing us through her writings, that the teachings of the Bible are practical and usable now, and need only be understood to be demonstrated. I am very grateful, too, to the practitioners who have helped me to a better understanding of this truth. I am grateful for class instruction, for our literature, and for every avenue that our Leader has given us for our advancement.
