The message of Christian Science came to me as a direct answer to an appeal for help, and the comfort of this teaching has been continuous. My progress might have been more rapid but for certain faults of character which I was not willing to recognize or part with. Much loving assistance has been given me from time to time by friends and practitioners, and class instruction in 1914 was a great blessing. I was instantaneously healed of a very inharmonious condition of the throat; a tendency to influenza and very severe colds has gradually lessened, and many other ills have been overcome. It would be impossible to relate all the wonderful effects of the application of this Science in daily life. At times of bereavement and great shock I was marvelously healed of sorrow, and I can never be grateful enough to the Christian Science friends who supported my suffering sense on those occasions. Just after Christmas, 1917, influenza attacked my husband, my mother, and myself. I was the first to succumb, but applied for Christian Science treatment and in two days was able to be about and nurse the others. As they are not Scientists, the doctor was called in, but their recovery was slow, and there were more complications following than in my case.

Christian Science teaches us to understand the Bible spiritually and becomes a lamp unto our feet. The literature is such a blessing when one is living in an out-of-the-way place. It is no wonder we love Mrs. Eddy, for she has given us so much and opened our eyes to behold the spiritual reality of God's universe. Every time we experience the Christ-healing we love and understand Jesus the Christ better. My prayer is that I may grow in grace, and that the light of this truth may soon dawn for all men and govern them in Love.
