Christian Science has done so much for me that I hardly know where to start to tell of its benefits. It found me in a very morose condition, and though other means had failed to bring me light, I was soon made happy and strong through treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. We sometimes hear people say that Christian Science is good only for troubles of this kind, that they do not believe it heals physical ailments. I have had many proofs in my own experience of its efficacy in healing what would be called strictly physical difficulties, and am convinced it is a quicker and surer remedial agency than anything else.
Some time ago, after seven years of unusually strenuous office work, with but few vacations, I found myself in such a condition that it seemed as if I would either have to take a long rest or resign my position. I called on a practitioner and asked for treatment, and within a comparatively short time was so changed physically and mentally that I was able to keep right on working; and though the work was even increased over what it had formerly been, my health continued to improve to such an extent that it was plainly noticeable to those around me. I came in contact with many people every day, and for about two months hardly a day passed without some one remarking at the pronounced change in my appearance.
In her book, "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 130) Mrs. Eddy says, "Truth never falters nor fails; it is our faith that fails;" and Paul says, "God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." All that I am and have I owe to the understanding of God gained through the study of Christian Science, and words cannot express my gratitude for it.
