Jesus said, "Freely ye have received, freely give."
Jesus said, "Freely ye have received, freely give." In order to abide by this injunction I realize that a written testimony in regard to what Christian Science has done for me is necessary, and it is with deep gratitude that I send the following.
When Christian Science was first presented to me I recognized it to be just what I needed to overcome the sense of depression, apathy, melancholy, and nervousness under which I was laboring. I recognized instantly that my transformation had to come by the renewing of the mind; therefore I accepted Christian Science and set about to overcome these seeming blights within my life. Whenever, and wherever the truth has been intelligently applied benefits have been received.
Our Leader says, "Divine Science is absolute, and permits no half-way position in learning its Principle and rule—establishing it by demonstration" (Science and Health, p. 274). This truth sustained me in going through two trials when loved ones passed on through accidents. I realized that nothing can disturb the harmony of God's universe and that Life is eternal. The uplift that came with this realization was wonderful and meant spiritual growth for me. During the influenza epidemic I was the only Christian Scientist in a household of seven. Every one else had either a slight or a heavy attack, but I was absolutely free from any suggestion of it. I clung to the understanding that "in atmosphere of love divine, we live, and move, and breathe." This experience proved to me that Christian Science is preventive as well as curative, and I am very, very grateful for this proof.
