How blessed are those of us that have touched the hem...
How blessed are those of us that have touched the hem of Christian Science. Two days after I had been given an X-ray examination by two surgeons, who said I must be taken to a hospital and there undergo three operations, owing to a bad case of hip disease and many other physical ailments, Christian Science was brought to my attention and without any hesitation or mental reservation I accepted it. I began to live in conformity with its teaching, in patient obedience to God's infinite law of Love, and through the help of a practitioner was healed physically and morally. As yet I have caught only a beautiful glimpse of God's allness, but it is the light of my life.
I can truly say that the lame walk and the deaf hear, because this has been proved in my own experience. After I had been in Christian Science about six months my first testing time came. To mortal sense I became deaf but I did my mental work unceasingly, and with treatment from a practitioner the healing came ten weeks later. I attended the church during all this time, and finally one Wednesday evening at the beginning of the meeting my ears were unstopped and I could hear as well as ever. This most beautiful healing gave me much spiritual food for thought. The overcoming of the hip disease and lameness was very slow, but I thereby learned to be calm and steadfast each day in my adherence to God's law. To-day I am in perfect health. I lean on divine Love for all my daily needs, and in so doing have no care, no doubt, no fear.
I am very grateful for membership in our local branch church and in The Mother Church, and at this writing am having class instruction. I am indeed thankful to God, and grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. My daily prayer is to hear and obey, and live only for God and our fellow man. There is no other way.
