It is more than five years since I turned to Christian Science for help, after spending over ten years in a search for health. Existence from childhood had been a condition of weakness and pain for the most part. No sooner would one ailment abate in severity than something else discordant and painful would come. Finally a stroke of paralysis seemed to be the beginning of the end. After baths, massage, electric and medical treatments, had proved of no avail, despairingly I bought a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. Within a week paralysis, heart trouble, and a ruptured condition, said to be due to an operation, disappeared. I started reading the chapter on Prayer and did not leave a sentence till the meaning was clear. The years since then have been wonderfully free from physical trouble, but the struggle to "clean house" mentally has been severe.

I am very grateful for Mrs. Eddy's example and our textbook, through which the Bible is illumined; also for the Journal, Sentinel, and Monitor, which is the only daily newspaper in our home. My thankfulness goes out in full measure to God, the giver of every good and perfect gift.
