In a short notice with reference to the taking over of the Congregational Church in Dingwall Road by the local Christian Scientists the remark was made: "If we can escape all illness by the simple process of believing that we are not ill, the Christian Scientists ought to be a real power in the land." This does not represent the method by which Christian Science removes or destroys illness. Jesus made it quite clear for all time that an exact and scientific knowledge of God as the Principle and cause of all that really is would destroy sin and disease; for did he not say, "If ye continue in my word,... ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free"? Christian Science replaces belief with spiritual understanding, and enables one to have that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus." This divine Mind alone is able to destroy the false beliefs of sin and sickness which inhere in the carnal or human mind.
