God having done great things for me, I feel it my duty to...

God having done great things for me, I feel it my duty to give His name full praise. From childhood I suffered from stomach and bowel trouble, as well as severe headaches, although medicine was resorted to constantly. One night three years ago I was taken very ill, and after being examined by two of the best physicians in the state was told I had appendicitis. As I was then almost sixty-one years of age my children thought I would not survive an operation, so I consulted a friend who had been healed through Christian Science after the doctors had said they could do no more for her. As soon as I was able to do so I went seventy-five miles to see the same practitioner. He gave me one treatment, and I returned home the same day after eating a good meal with no bad effect. I have not suffered from stomach or bowel trouble since. In less than three weeks I was free from appendicitis, in perfect health, and feeling younger than at twenty-five years of age.

I had worn glasses thirty-three years, but laid them aside and have never needed them since. I was healed in this wonderful way without having the least understanding of the truth, but I read faithfully as the practitioner told me to do and gradually the meaning became clear. My husband was healed of chronic sciatica in six days and has never had a return of it. He was also healed of a throat trouble of long standing, although the doctors told him he would have to be operated on before he could get relief.

We praise God daily for these proofs of Love's ever presence, and for the broader, saner view of life that has been shown us through Mrs. Eddy's teachings. Instead of the old-time doubt of all things worth while, such as ultimate good, eternal Life, and peace, our lives are for the most part one happy round of love, hope, and faith.
