Funds of The Mother Church

"The ten dollars which I inclose with this letter represents my entire savings, and I would like to have you use it to send copies of Science and Health or some of our beloved Christian Science papers over to our soldiers in France. I am fourteen years old to-day, so you see I am too young to go over myself, but I wish I could. Since I can't go I want to make this birthday gift to the soldiers, and I want you to please use it where it will do most good."

"I feel compelled to voice my feelings and to express my gratitude for the beautiful gift of thirty francs. I could hardly believe that I should receive this present. This week it was doubly welcome. The proverb that 'man's extremity is God's opportunity' is true after all. Always the thought came to me to tell the Lord and He would help, and this brought me comfort. May God bless all the good and generous people."

"Permit me to express to you my sincerest thanks for the help that twice already has been afforded me through the War Relief fund. Being one of those affected very much by the war, this help has been of great value to me in my financial problems. I would also speak of the many benefits which I have received through Christian Science and for which I am very grateful. I appreciate the literature in these dark times. It is for me an inexhaustible fountain of life, strength, and encouragement."
