The testimonies in our periodicals have so often helped...
The testimonies in our periodicals have so often helped me that I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science. About five years before becoming interested in this teaching I injured the forefinger of my left hand, and it became quite useless, doctors telling me that the vitality was destroyed. After reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy for about a fortnight, I noticed that I was using this finger with the same efficiency as before the accident, although I had not thought of it in connection with Christian Science healing. Sleeplessness, also various nervous troubles, including neuritis, disappeared so quietly that it was not until I heard a testimony given one Wednesday evening of a similar healing that I realized the knowledge of the truth as taught in Christian Science had made me free.
I am indeed grateful for the physical healing, and for the help Christian Science is in overcoming all the small inharmonies of every-day life, but words cannot express my deep thankfulness for the rest and calm which entered my consciousness with the first wonderful revelation of the truth which our text-book contains. Whereas I was formerly very unhappy and restless, Christian Science has brought me greater happiness and peace than I ever thought possible. My old religious beliefs had failed to satisfy me, but now God's infinite love meets my every need.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking the Publishing Society for all the literature, which is such a wonderful help in these times. I know I can best show my gratitude to God, who through Mrs. Eddy has shown us this way of salvation, by the full and glad surrender of self, and by daily striving to let the incoming of the pure Christ-consciousness eliminate all that is unlike good.
