About eight years ago I began the study of Christian Science
About eight years ago I began the study of Christian Science. When a small child I had a severe attack of scarlet fever, and after that never knew a well day, being afflicted with a weak heart, chronic stomach and bowel trouble, and many other ailments. I also had frequent attacks of headache, often being confined to the bed for several days at a time.
When I began to study Christian Science I gave no thought to my own state of health, but read with the sole purpose of helping one dear to me. I did not realize that I had been healed until one day I awoke to the fact that I, who had been a slave to medicine, had not taken a material remedy for two weeks. All symptoms of stomach and bowel trouble and all indications of a week heart had utterly vanished. I had been eating heartily of whatever was set before me, taking no thought of my food. I have never been troubled with the least symptoms of those disorders since, and many other ailments dropped away from me one by one as I continued to study Christian Science.
One thing that had caused me much suffering was varicose veins, and although some of the scars are still apparent I never suffer from this trouble. Most of my healings have come as the result of a clearer understanding of the great goodness and power of God, and of man's relation to Him, gained through the study of Mrs. Eddy's writings. I would like to mention one healing that has caused friends who are dear to me to see that it was due to the power of Truth and to begin to seek it for themselves.
