Brooklyn (N. Y.) Eagle

Recently, in reply to the question "Do you consider Christian Science a religion?" a clergyman is credited by the Eagle with saying, "It is fanaticism." Whether or not Christian Science is what its adherents claim it to be, is a question that any honest investigator can decide for himself. Christian Science is based upon divine Principle, and is demonstrated according to rule. The student who discerns this Principle and thinks and acts according to its rules, can prove to his entire satisfaction that the healing taught in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and the healing taught by Jesus of Nazareth are one and the same.

If the critic were aware that by referring to Christian Science as "fanaticism" he is at the same time referring to the very Christianity which all avowed Christians should be practising as well as preaching, no doubt he would cease his denunciations. Mankind, particularly leaders of public thought, cannot afford to be uninformed or misinformed regarding that which has reinstated primitive Christian healing.
