We came into Christian Science almost eight years ago...
We came into Christian Science almost eight years ago through the healing of our baby, who was at that time thirteen months old, from what the doctors pronounced a malignant condition of the liver, adding that they had never witnessed or read of such a case in so young a child. For several months she had "suffered many things of many physicians," and at last, when it seemed as though the end was near, with no hope whatever of her recovery, we decided to give Christian Science a trial.
A practitioner labored most lovingly day and night to bring to us the realization of God as the only Life. The healing was not instantaneous, but for five months the child improved a little each day, until she was completely healed. I never gave up to discouragement, but was thankful to God that each day she was just a little better than the day before. This child is now almost nine years old, is strong and healthy, and goes to school every day. Three months after this healing occurred my four children were taken with the measles in a very bad form. For two days the baby was entirely blind, but through the aid of the practitioner the children were completely healed in three or four days.
Since this time we have had many proofs of the healing power of Christian Science. Whooping-cough in a severe form was overcome in two days, influenza in three treatments, and a bad attack of heart trouble yielded to the truth in an hour and a half. In the fall of 1915 my son, then thirteen years old, was run over by an autotruck, and for three or four days suffered very much. He had Christian Science treatment, and in three weeks was back in school, running and romping with the other boys.
