Billings, Mont .—During the year the following literature was distributed: 3435 Sentinels, 267 Journals, 24 Herolds, 8313 Monitors, 75 Quarterlies, 703 pamphlets, 1030 lectures. Racks for the distribution of literature were placed in the Chamber of Commerce Building, Union Depot, El Niblo Hotel, Grand Hotel, Northern Hotel, City Hall, Yegen Brothers Store, and Hart-Albin Rest Room. There was an increase of 45 per cent in the literature distribution during the first month the racks were in place, and the last three months of 1916 showed an increase of more than 100 per cent over the first month. While the Midland Empire Fair was held a booth was maintained by the distribution committee and the following literature was distributed: 350 Sentinels, 24 Journals, 700 Monitors. The county jail has been visited once each week, and literature distributed to the occupants, who were glad to receive it.
The number of yearly subscriptions used for the distribution work are as follows: Sentinel, 10; Journal, 16; Herold, 1; Monitor, 2. Subscriptions for the Monitor are being sent to the Polytechnic Institute, Y. M. C. A., the county jail, El Niblo Hotel, and the library. The Journal is sent to the Northern Hotel and the library. The library also receives the Sentinel. Two copies of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, one copy of "Miscellaneous Writings," and two Christian Science Hymnals were placed in the library. Six copies of Science and Health (one German edition) were given out during the year.
