During the past few years I have thought little of a physical disorder which existed prior to the time I began the study of Christian Science, until I desired to take up work which required a physical examination. An appointment was made with the physician who had attended me since birth, and who had treated me for this trouble but without giving me permanent relief. After much thumping, sounding, and listening on his part, I asked the condition of my heart and lungs. The reply was that I could pass normally with the exception of an eye condition, which has improved greatly since it first appeared. The healing was the outcome of daily study of the Lesson-Sermons and the reading of Christian Science literature.
I have experienced many healings since taking up Christian Science, as it has been applied to every problem,—physical, mental, and financial. One of the many blessings is the overcoming of indecision and condemnation. As I was an only child, selfishness and self-will had to be overcome, and I have learned that success is gained through the realization of guidance by Principle and not through the human will.
It has been my privilege to be connected with the distribution of Christian Science literature, and I am very grateful for the help and pleasure experienced from this work. Mrs. Eddy states in Science and Health (p. 296), "Either here or hereafter, suffering or Science must destroy all illusions regarding life and mind, and regenerate material sense and self." I am very glad to have found this truth so early in life that I may omit the suffering and work out my problems through Christian Science.
