Eleven years ago, while I was in Denver, hoping the climate would be beneficial to my son, who was suffering from a bronchial trouble, Christian Science was brought to my notice. I was very skeptical and did not accept it at once for the child, but finally called on a practitioner. My son had taken about ten treatments when I was called home, as my people thought I was suffering from a mental disorder. I, however, kept in close touch with the practitioner, though my husband clung to material remedies for the boy. After struggling along for about seven months, we were asked to take the child from school. My husband took him to a physician for a final examination, but came home very much discouraged, and then consented to Christian Science treatment. The practitioner was notified, and in less than a week the child was completely healed.
Words cannot express my gratitude for this healing and for the protection which was mine during this trial. But of all the blessings which I have received since being a student of Christian Science, the greatest is this: Christian Science has taught me to know that God is; that He is Love, divine Principle, and that the truth is applicable to every discordant condition which may present itself. Other physical disturbances, such as acute lung trouble, scarlet rash, headaches, stomach disorders, diphtheria, and colds, have all been overcome in our home by applying Christian Science as the only remedy. My daily prayer is for growth in grace and understanding, and we are having constant proof of the healing power of Truth.
