"The members of Christian Science Society, Zurich, assembled in business meeting, desire to express to you and to the contributors of the war relief fund of The Mother Church their deep sense of gratitude for the generous donations sent to this country."

"I have duly drawn the 150 Italian lire handed me through your kindness, and for which I am indebted to the liberality of The Mother Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Mass., U. S. A. Their inspiration is divine at the hour of great distress—particularly for us needy ones it proves a true godsend! May I ask you to express the heartfelt gratitude to those, God's messengers. And you, who know all my trials and difficulties to make my way at this time of life, accept warmest thanks."

"Your daughter will have told you that we are grateful for the wonderful present of 250 lire, but I feel I must give you my thanks in writing, especially now that I have read your dear, kind letter. To think that you care about our well being will make every bit of good we get out of your help doubly beneficial. This I think you will realize is not a mere mode of speech, but the true feeling of our hearts. It will be an every-day pleasure to be thankful to those who have brought rest into our lives again, and it is almost worth having suffered all we have, experiencing the being lifted out of our difficulties so gently and lovingly."
