About twenty years ago my mother called me to see what she thought were four abnormal growths. I immediately called a surgeon, who diagnosed the trouble as hernia. He said it was useless to operate, as the case was incurable, and ordered her to wear a truss, charging her never to step without it, as the slightest slip would mean strangulation of the bowels. He also said that she must take medicine every day for bowel inaction. For fourteen years my mother made the trip to New York every year, in order to have the same physician treat her and make the necessary adjustments in her support.

Six years ago a Christian Science practitioner was asked to treat her for chronic bronchitis. I did not dream that she would think of having treatment for the hernia, but the practitioner treated her not only for the throat affection but for this trouble, and she was absolutely healed. Three years later she was examined by the surgeon, but he could not find even a sore spot. My mother is alive and well, and I gladly give this testimony, as it may help some one who is suffering from the same trouble.—Grace L. Dawson, New York, N. Y.
