Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England (Society).—John Sydney Braithwaite, lecturer; introduced by Charles W. J. Tennant, who said in part:—

In these crucial times in the world's history, when men and nations are being tested and purified morally, politically, and socially, it is interesting to note that their religions are not exempt from this testing and purifying process. The demand today is for proof rather than profession in religious matters. Primitive Christianity, as taught and practised by Jesus, his disciples, and the early Christians, was a daily demonstration of the power of God in healing the sick, reforming the sinner, raising the dead, and performing many other wonderful works through spiritual understanding. These practical proofs of Christianity gradually died out as the world sank into the dark ages. In her discovery of Christian Science Mrs. Eddy has revealed the divine Principle and rule by which these works of old were performed.
